The Wolfman

Title: The Wolfman

Staring: Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins & Emily Blunt

General Plot: Benicio Del Toro is the outcast son that comes home when his brother's girlfriend sends him a letter saying that the brother has gone missing.  By the time that he gets home, of course, the brother is dead and his goal is to avenge his brother's death.  Of course, he becomes a werewolf and slaughter ensues....

Review: You know, normally, I am a fan of both Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins and movies about werewolfs and the like, but this movie was a horrible kind of suck.  Have we not learned that when you go back to avenge your brother's/sisters/mothers/fathers death that nothing good can possibly come from it?  The plot had a lot of potential though, I will give it credit for that.  An evil father that is a werewolf and eventually kills his own son, killed his wife, and sent his oldest son to a nut house for no reason sure could go somewhere.  And of course you have the whore girlfriend that started with the dead brother and then ended up banging Benicio Del Toro, but with the horrible special effects, it turned out looking like something that should have been on animal planet as a special on Ape's and their mating and fighting rituals.

The Wolfman - Review

A story about a man named Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) that saw his mother die when he was a child, who then moved away, became an actor and finally comes back home to Blackmoor when his brother is found dead in a ditch. Sounds like a normal weekend to me.

The story progresses rather slowly at first, with the only highlight for the first 30 minutes being Lawrence’s brother getting slashed open like a fish. The story then breaks out into a sprint with Lawrence being bitten, healing from the attack and changing into a hairy beast, while surprisingly enough looking much like Michael J. Fox in Teen Wolf the entire time.

He then moves on to killing random people by swatting their heads off, and finally (yup, you guessed it) fighting the same Werewolf that bit him. The end fight was pretty cool, that alone was worth the price of admission.

Overall, I was highly underwhelmed. I expected some badass Wolf looking creature that did badass things like kill Vampires and get it on with hot Wolf chicks or something. I don’t know, maybe I have high (or low depending on how you look at it) expectations. I just wanted more of a Wolf, and less of the man dressed up in a wolf costume running like a retard on crack.

They did get one thing right though, they put Anthony Hopkins in this movie. I would so have his short, hairy chested babies.
